How can an interior designer improve the quality of life

A balanced and comfortable room design creates a place where you can unwind. Where furniture is placed and the right spacing around it will contribute to a feeling of openness, and will prevent the room from feeling tight and cramped.

Proportion is key, and designers can easily determine the right-sized pieces that will fit nicely in the space. A designer plans out a room to suit your lifestyle best; with your needs and functionality in mind. They can rework your layout with the different needs and the different ways you will be using that space.

If your living room needs to be multi-functional; with a space to watch TV, a separate quiet space to read or maybe a space to work or work-out, an interior designer can make it so all these activities can be easily done in that one space.

Designers design with the question, for each item we suggest; does it have a purpose and does it fulfil the overall need of the client? They find the perfect balance between decor and clutter. Bringing order with storage solutions creates a place for everything and relieves stress. Maybe you have kids and the living room sometimes turns into their playground with toys, drawings and crayons in every corner.

Or your home office feels chaotic with documents, bills, electronic devices and cables laying around. Material possessions and personal effects are necessary items in our everyday lives, but poor organization and bad storage solutions can greatly affect our comfort of living.

Careful planning can solve a great deal of organization issues that may arise. Good interior design can give you convenient storage solutions for all your personal belongings. It is always a good idea to have plenty of cabinets, drawers and open shelves to put away or proudly exhibit various types of items. Be sure to also explore modern storage systems and solutions, as these can be pretty neat and convenient.

Drawer dividers, wardrobe organizers and kitchen pull-out or swivel racks for example are a great way to add some extra functionality to your design. In a world where most of us live a fast-paced life full of stress, interior design can turn our home or office into an oasis of peace.

Good planning and a proper selection of matching materials, colors, lighting and accessories can create a balanced and relaxing setting. It may sound a lot like Feng Shui, but it is out of question that a good design that is well organized and aesthetically pleasing can restore our emotional balance, bring us peace of mind and have a positive impact on all aspects of our lives.

Creating a safe and healthy living space is a problem of utmost importance. These elements, along with the physical sensations and emotions that they evoke, allow us to shape and make spaces enjoyable, beautiful, and functional for us.

Here are some interior design ideas that can help you enhance your quality of life. There has been a keen focus on the important connection between people and nature because it affects both our health and productivity. The pandemic has brought this issue front and center.

Since we tend to spend most of our time indoors, we crave time to interact with nature. These interactions recharge us and regenerate our minds and bodies. More and more, interior designers are incorporating daylighting techniques, natural ventilation, indoor gardens, views of nature and water elements.

Each element helps us fulfill our need to connect to nature. Adding flowers to your interior space will add beauty and freshness. My personal favorite are orchids because they live on for months at a time. Flowers and plants will fill your spaces with beautiful colors, appealing scents and liveliness.

We always add flowers to our projects! Candles are one of our favorite accessories because they come in all shapes, sizes and scents! You can decorate any interior space with candles or even hang them on your walls. Candles will give a space more ambiance and will make it feel cozier at night. They also evoke feelings of peace, serenity, relaxation, and even romance. Check out how we incorporated candles into our Ocean Park Residence project.

Try to design each space based on its intended use. Sometimes mixing the use of spaces can negatively impact how we feel and function in those spaces. Stacked cardboard boxes, Lego bins, and baskets can be creatively repurposed to create workstations. Find something you can use as a desk or repurpose furniture into a desk. This can be applied to any space you want to transform or give it another purpose.
